STATUE OF RAMSES II, LUXOR

~ VALLEY OF THE KINGS, LUXOR AND KARNAK

~ LUXOR AND KARNAK ~

The remains of the temple complex of Luxor are a strong testament to the refined knowledge and undeniable wisdom of the ancient Egyptians.  The structures were studied in infinite detail for 15 years by Schwaller de Lubicz, who began his systematic inquiry in 1937. He postulated that the three main axes of Luxor temple, to which all temple structures align; represent the form of the human body.

Schwaller de Lubicz clearly demonstrated that the early Egyptians had a phenomenal knowledge of mathematics and science, and that it far surpassed the Greek and European knowledge systems that evolved thousands of years later.  Quite a few historians bristle at this, and have great difficulty conceiving that the laws of manifesting thought to form are evidenced in the art and design of the great structures of Dynastic Egypt. John Anthony West has published numerous works that deftly display the probability that Egyptian culture has roots that go back over 30,000 years. Indeed, many Egyptologists are beginning to see that the age of the Sphinx as well as other Egyptian treasures may be many times older than previous estimates.

We had several days to relish the temples in and around Luxor.  Our cruise ended at Luxor, and we departed our vessel and transferred to a wonderful hotel on nearby Crocodile Island.  This became our beautiful and safe harbor to visit Luxor and Karnak, and later Abydos and Denderah.  Our hotel’s spa had a fabulous massage therapist and healer from the UK, and Kate helped me integrate many of the turbulent energies that I faced in Egypt.  I still fondly remember her wonderful healing touch during a poolside reflexology session one breezy afternoon.  Dan and I both were elated to have sessions with her for a few days, and her insights served us both well. I felt myself realign and decompress, as I opened to receive the gifts that became manifest in my practitioner's hands.

From the boat dock at the hotel we performed a Water Healing Ritual. We were guided to gift the Nile with one of the seven Lemurian Quartz Crystals that we were guided to bring with us on our world journey. A sacred ibis blessed the ritual by slowly gliding by as we poured our sacred water into the Nile, and then collected its water into our bottle.

During our first full day in Luxor temple, removed from any guides or cruise ship schedules, we had the time and inclination to leisurely absorb the energy of the site.  Luxor's energy was generally fantastic, and we appreciated that one of the few statues of King Tut, seated next to one of his young brides, is displayed at the temple.

YOUNG WOMEN STRIKE A POSE NEAR KARNAK

We spent that afternoon, and all of the next day, at Karnak. As we left Luxor, and sassy group of young women passed us, and I requested a photo of them. They not only instantly agreed; their ability to expertly line up model-style in just seconds was phenomenal, almost as if they did it regularly. The energy of young, unmarried women was always a great contrast to ladies who were in the company of their husbands in Egypt. The colorful garb of single females often became black, by choice, upon marriage. In the private homes that we visited, the women did not sit or visit with guests, they did not even eat the meals that they prepared and served us. I was the only female in these circumstances.

Groups of single women appeared exuberant and free, playing with tourists, and may represent a change in the next generation of Egyptian females. Most young Muslim women still do choose to observe Hijab, a religious doctrine which demands the wearing of a cover on the head and loose clothing on the body, as well as a modest and somewhat subservient set of standards for social conduct. The pants worn by the ladies who posed for me were a bit of a stretch, as Hijab states that women may not dress in a way that makes them appear as men. It was a great pleasure to connect with their free spirits, and see how much they enjoyed modeling for me. Through the Internet, their outgoing spirits are shared with the world. Thank You, dear ladies!
