I began life in Lafayette Louisiana, as a sensitive soul who never really “fit in”. We moved several times during my childhood, and this proved extremely difficult for me. My home environment began to stifle my creative nature when it became apparent that I would always prefer my art to a “real job”.
As a young adult I chose not to pursue the exploration of my creativity for my livelihood, and instead succumbed to pressure from my father to study engineering and eventually patent law. When my father passed on nine years ago, his financially rewarding career in the oil industry provided me the freedom to leave law behind and pursue my creativity fully. For this gift from him, and the universe, I am extremely grateful.
I was attracted to nature and creatures great and small from an early age, and when I wasn't climbing trees or catching snakes I was drawing. Drawing and studying dolphins became a favorite pastime of mine, and I always rooted for a certain football team from Miami as a kid after I saw the dolphins on the team's helmets.
I have been blessed to travel to Hawaii several times to connect with the energy of wild dolphins, and I feel a strong bond with them. Swimming in the open waters off the Big Island with several different pods of dolphins was a dream fulfilled for me. The dolphins completely surrounded me in the crystalline blue water and as they looked in my eyes their high-pitched language seemed to hold a message for me.

A few years ago I became drawn to the beauty of lotus flowers. At this time in my life I began chanting mantras, particularly the Tibetan mantra Om Mani Padme Hum. These ancient healing words of many meanings may be translated as “the Jewel in the Lotus”. I was gifted a vision of four dolphins swimming around a lotus with an energy that felt very flowing to me. This became the inspiration for my newly created jewelry designs.
My appreciation of the lotus flower and the joy of my dolphin connection are shared with others through the creation of these dolphin lotus pieces titled Flow. The back of each piece is graced with the word “Flow” and the phrase “Thank you God”, in appreciation for the presence of Spirit in my life.
“The dolphins flow around the lotus, as we ideally flow around and through the events of our lives”
