The stones of the Great Pyramid are cut to amazingly tight tolerances that to this day cannot be duplicated. That such a huge structure is nearly perfectly level is again contrary to the building expertise of the fourth Dynasty. Curiously, in both the fifth and 12th centuries there are historical reports of amazing inscriptions fully covering the casement stones of the pyramid. With the harvesting of these stones 600 to 700 years ago, the answers to many great mysteries forever vanished.
Other amazing facts are that the age of fossils in the silt surrounding the Great Pyramid, as well as visible water lines, suggest that the pyramid itself is actually around 12,000 years old. The building is perfectly aligned to the cardinal compass points, and indicates an intricate and complex astronomical understanding. The numerical calculations of both phi and the golden ratio were evident to the pyramid’s builders, and even the size and shape of the Earth can be calculated perfectly from the dimensions of the structure.
There is no other edifice in Egypt with such characteristics, particularly nothing that was built in the fourth Dynasty. “The Great Pyramid is a repository of universal standards, it is a model of the earth against which any standard could be confirmed and corrected if necessary.” Read more about the amazing geometry of the pyramid at world-mysteries.com.
Another fine essay written by Martin Gray about the mysteries of the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx makes note of Plato's mentioning of Atlantean people invading the area of present day Egypt many thousands of years before Egyptian culture is said to have begun flourishing. Edgar Cayce, probably America's most well known and well researched psychic, also stated in one of his readings that the pyramid was begun over 12,000 years ago.
A more traditional view of Egyptian history that still does indeed consider many of its current inconsistencies may be found at the following link. It also contains quite up to date photographs of recent discoveries within the pyramid, as well as several well done diagrams of its internal structures. One of the most intriguing finds in a recently excavated shaft includes a limestone block in which two corroded pieces of copper are embedded. They fit the research of Christopher Dunn, who has posited a plausibly brilliant if not seemingly fanciful hypothesis that the Great Pyramid of Giza was in fact constructed solely as an immensely efficient ancient power plant. He has discovered residues of chemicals in certain shafts that support his beliefs, as well as evidence of a great explosion within the structure eons ago. The Great Pyramid of Giza Research Association presents many cutting edge theories about the pyramid, most of which would cause great consternation in the ranks of traditional Egyptologists.
