KAUAI: HUMPBACK WHALE SAYS HELLO

~ KAUAI ~ NA PALI COAST WHALES, TURTLES AND DOLPHINS~

Our next day was full of adventure, quite literally.  We booked a snorkel trip up the rugged Na Pali coast with Kauai Sea Tours on their 60 foot catamaran, The Lucky Lady.  It is billed as a stable ride for even young children over four, in contrast to their raft trips, that cater to those who are “physically fit outdoor enthusiasts”, because they “take endurance”.  Well, our Captain that day was filling in, and his normal route was that very exciting raft trip just mentioned.

We made our way up the northern Na Pali coast with just amazing views of the cliffs for almost the whole trip.  The ocean was quite rough, but we did make it to our snorkel sites without incident.  The water was very cold, and only I could stay in because Dan was shivering in just a few minutes.  The position of Kauai as the most northern of the Hawaiian Isles is the reason that the water was so rough and chilly.  I did have a wonderful encounter with a sea turtle that left me in a bliss state pondering how to effectively allow into my field the vibration of intense happiness independent of anything or anyone else. Multi-dimensional love just IS.  How to access it and live it unconditionally were questions that my mind played with in the water that day, as I swam with a turtle who beckoned me to merge with it.  I did feel an intense connection with it, and all life on the planet.

My eyes were open for dolphins as I swam. The business staff made it clear that their company did not promote swimming with wild dolphins, as they believed it was far too dangerous.  After the many wondrous hours I had spent in the water with the dolphins off the coast of the Big Island just days before, I found this absurd.  I informed them that we swam with folks who have taken pregnant women into the water with the wild spinners, without ever having anything but positive consequences.  They stared at me blankly, without much response.

We were blessed with quite a few dolphins off the front and sides of the boat, which was quite a treat for all involved.  There were numerous humpback whale sightings as we made our way up the coast, and we stopped the craft to keep the prescribed distance from them several times.  At one point, and yes it was when I was down in the head, unfortunately, I heard the Captain yell excitedly.  Pulling up my sticky wet swimsuit as quickly as possible, I ran up to find that a double breach had just occurred, a very rare occurrence!  The look of glee on everyone’s faces let me know how wonderful it had been.  I thanked the beautiful behemoths, still visible not too far in the distance, for their accessibility and their great show of the day.  The showed me their tails in acknowledgment, diving side by side.   Their high-pitched, melodic songs echoed from the underwater mikes like arias from the sea. It was enthralling.  And then the weather changed.

The wind picked up and the sun was lost behind clouds that started to sprinkle a chilly rain down on us.  Those of us that stayed above board put on a few more layers of clothing. The wind picked up dramatically, and with it, the waves started to roil around us. The ship banged with great force up and down upon the sea with more and more gut-wrenching percussion, and yet the captain continued on further from port.  I heard a deckhand report that 12 or more “patients” were down below feeling very ill and were being attended to, and still we headed into the rough seas further.  For me it was almost fun, but I was getting soaked and chilled and I did find myself questioning if our craft was built for such violent seas.  We struck the water with so much force, it felt almost like hitting a brick wall.   As the catamaran banged up and down jarringly, we were getting sprayed with ocean water even on the upper deck.  It was one wild ride.

Just as I was beginning to feel a bit queasy and concerned, we abruptly changed course.  Reversing direction corresponded with the wind dying down, and the ride back was actually fairly smooth.  I heard that a great gift was coming my way to thank me for the perseverance it required to travel to the world’s Sacred Sites for three months, on this, the second to last day of our Journey.  Within minutes, the clouds parted and a lovely rainbow formed that was quite a gift.  I went up to the bow of the ship, happy to feel comfortable on the more quiet seas, and just then a small pod of dolphins approached.

KAUAI: TURTLE CONNECTION

The dolphins reached out to me energetically in a profound way as they began slipping into the stream of the bow wave beside the ship.  I felt them take me into their hearts somehow, and carry me along with them as our energies merged.  I felt very guided to take a few pictures of them.  A single dolphin caught my eye, and I clearly remember the moment I captured her image on film, as well as some other members of her pod a few minutes later. Their spirits imparted something special to these pictures, of this I was sure. The next day I found out just how true this feeling actually was.

More special gifts were on the way.  That evening, we met a wonderful massage therapist who became the conduit for the unbelievable series of synchronicities that heralded the completion of the Journey.  Her name is Paula Kressley, and I received a perfect healing and massage session from her at her office, while Dan saw her colleague. I felt the dolphins dance and weave through her hands, even when they were not physically touching me or moving on my body.  Her touch was potent and felt an important piece of the integration of all the energies of the Sacred Sites we had visited, and the Water Rituals we had performed.  Paula connects to the dolphin’s healing energies with each session she facilitates, and she felt my connection to them instantly.  The connection between the two of us as healers was so strong that we decided to meet together for dinner later that evening, even though she had to change her plans to do so.  She and I both find it essential to live from our guidance rather than plans, and that commonality facilitated many miracles to occur between us.

At dinner, we discovered amazing parallels within each of our spiritual journeys.  We had participated in extremely similar, yet unusual, sacred ceremonies on the same days; many thousands of miles from each other.  We had visited some of the same sacred sites with similar intentions.  We were definitely of the same tribe.  Paula became quiet toward the end of dinner, and told us that she felt very drawn to introduce us to her friend Gary the next day.  We were not leaving Kauai to return home to Sedona until early evening, so we openly accepted her invitation.  I, too, felt there was something important that we were to do together, and that the last day of the Journey would be quite spectacular.  It is hard to put into words the energy and magic that occurred at her friend Gary’s land.  next page>>
